They came with the sun,
and with the sun they went away.
They came on a day when the sea was calm
And as the sea began to rise
Their little figurines became small.
Small enough to not be seen by me-
Small enough to not be grasped by my eyes!
The sea rose more, and as it rose
Just like the tides, they all washed away.
Cleaning them from me, cleaning my thoughts from them.
I remember the first time I met them;
It was Summer!
The sun was high up in the sky
And earth held the scent of trees,
Those were good times, I recall!
We laughed, we loved;
We became everything we could feel.
But on a day when snow covered earth
Covered the light, covered the day;
During a dark night
Just like they came, they all went away.
