Lost in translation

Trying to translate a poem, is like trying to repaint a painting in a completely different style. Like repainting a Gogh’s painting into a Picasso.
It’s not that the translated poem will be bad, cause it can often be better than the original. The problem is that it wont give the same emotion, it just won’t!

  1. I agree, I´ve read a some people that have the same poem translated even in 3 languages! Quite impressive they know three languages, but reading it in English I find it more pleasant, plus it´s the only language I know! (apart form my native spanish), although translated in Italian don´t know why but italian has a nice ring to it.
