Sound of Silence

We walked a little more,
without making any sound
without uttering a single word;
Just walking
and tasting the music
that this old city
decided to play for us.
Just for me, just for her,
just for the two of us!

  1. Very nice. I like the simplicity. Restraint is a great asset in poetry at times I think. I could use more of it. πŸ™‚ Thank you for following my writing. We need more blogs (like Dverse) encouraging mass submissions for constructive feedback. Maybe they exist, and I just don’t know about them.

  2. i have always found the sound of silence to be a paradox – on one hand it is beautiful and on the other it is deafening. i have a tendency to describe the latter where you have given this paradox beauty. lovely piece.
